The oyster shell opens with a satisfying little click, and the shrimp comes apart in pieces that my daughter actually finds easy to grip. Watching her shuck and peel like a tiny chef is adorable, and it's held up well to daily play in her kitchen.
My son loves the pretend prep work—peeling those little shrimp and shucking the oyster keeps him busy for ages, and the pieces feel sturdy enough for rough play. The fish even separates for slicing, which is a nice touch for teaching kitchen skills.
